Christine Wheeler, the Mayor of Beccles, popped in to assembly today to answer our questions about her role in the community

Ilketshall won the Wellbeing Award in the Suffolk Education Awards 2023 for our outstanding work towards wellbeing across the school community

Eco Council launch the Cut Carbon Campaign

Our Eco Council launched this campaign in assembly this morning. Nine challenges were set for families to complete by the end of November!

Unsung heroes performance

Eagle Owls performed their Unsung Heroes song to the school today. The song is about a local hero the children researched at Lowestoft Archives and a local composer then worked with them to write the song. They will be singing the song again at Snape Maltings at the end of the month

District Councillors pop in to Ilketshall

Local district councillors, Anthony Speca and Toby Hammond, spent time talking the children about their roles and explaining how each of them can make a difference

MacMillan Coffee Event in the sunshine

MacMillan Coffee Event at Ilketshall raises over £200. A cuppa and cake in the sunshine - beautiful!

Today Ilketshall enjoyed some fascinating workshops with the RSPCA. It was so interesting finding out what wildlife lives in our grounds. 

Ilketshall learns more about waste

WildEast school pledge

Ilketshall has taken the WildEast school pledge to rewild part of our school grounds. The planting has begun and it looks amazing!

100m sprinter James Dasaolu visited Ilketshall for the morning and put us all through our paces - such an inspirational role model!

MacMillan Coffee Event 

Pupil Voice arranged a MacMillan Coffee Event for families and friends of the school. They raised over £250!

The Friends of Ilketshall organised a super school fete today. Wonderful to see so many smiling faces!

Sports Day Magic

Ilketshall enjoyed an amazing sports day in the beautiful sunshine. So great to see children all having fun and to welcome so many supporters into school again to cheer them on!

Rocksteady arrived at Ilketshall this week and Ilketshall totally rocked! Fantastic day, can't wait for the concerts to begin!

Tawny Owls and Little Owls had a great time enjoying the Dance East session this afternoon

Tawny Owls finished off their golf taster sessions with a lesson at Halesworth Golf Club with their club pro - amazing fun!

Jubilee celebrations at Ilketshall

Ilketshall enjoyed a full day of celebration for the Jubilee. Activities, street party lunch and a family assembly - a beautiful day was enjoyed by everyone!

Wellbeing Garden transformation

Ilketshall have transformed an unused courtyard into a beautiful wellbeing garden - thank you to all of the staff, children, families and local firms that made this possible!

Tree planting for the Queen's Jubilee

Thank you to the local parish council who donated a tree for us to plant to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee.

Family defibrillator training

Now that we have a defibrillator at the school it seemed only right to offer families and the local community the chance to learn how to use it. Thanks to a parent first aider who offered expert advice to everyone!

Tennis coaching begins at Ilketshall - March 

Both Eagle Owls and Barn Owls were given the opportunity to join in with some coaching sessions from an LTA accredited coach from the local tennis club this term. The sessions will be running from now until the middle of the summer term. Great experience of a new sport!

Red Nose Fun Afternoon - 18th March

Our very own Pupil Voice ran a super fun afternoon in aid of Comic Relief. Every child dressed in something red and enjoyed a range of games and activities all organised by Pupil Voice. The proceeds went to Comic Relief.


FairTrade Cake Sale - 17th March

Eagle Owls baked a selection of goodies using Fairtrade produce as part of their learning about Fairtrade. The children, staff and parents enjoyed a tasty treat and all proceeds went to the Red Cross Ukraine appeal.
