Attendance

At Ilketshall St Lawrence School we expect children to attend school every day, as long as they are fit and healthy enough to do so.

Research shows that pupils who attend school regularly are more likely to do well in the future. Regular attendance helps children to develop their confidence and to make and keep lasting friendships.

School absence

If your child is too ill to attend school please contact us either in person at the school office or telephone 01986 781315 and select option 1 for our absence line. If your child has a medical appointment you need to notify the school in advance, we also ask for a copy of the appointment letter or card. Only take time off for the appointment, not the whole day.

Celebrating Good Attendance

Every half term we celebrate good attendance with our attendance raffle. For every full week each child has been in school, a raffle ticket is placed into the prize draw, at the end of each half term we draw for names from each class to win an attendance prize.

The class with the highest attendance for the half term is awarded a trophy. At the end of the half term this is rewarded with a class treat, which have included a non-uniform day, a teddy bears’ picnic and a dressing up day.

Each year children who have achieved 100% Attendance receive a gift voucher.
